PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a can body and a can having a visual appearance and capable of enhancing the column strength. SOLUTION: A plurality of recess rows 11 having a plurality of recesses 12 which are continuously formed in the vertical direction and a connection part 13 for connecting the plurality of recesses 12 are formed in a barrel portion 4 at spaced intervals around the axis of the can, and a pair of connection ridge parts 25a and 25b forming the contour of the connection part 13 are separated from each other.
