PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a triaxial testing machine capable of performing a liquefaction test even with respect to unsaturated soil by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The triaxial testing machine is equipped with a repeated axial load applying cylinder 23 for repeatedly applying stress in a vertical direction to a test object M, acting water 22 for applying stress to the test object M in a horizontal direction, a measuring unit 3 for measuring the actual stress value acting on the test object M at every definite time interval and a side-pressure control unit 4 for controlling the static water pressure due to the acting water 22. It is operated whether the average main stress acting on the test object M is constant on the basis of the actual stress value in the vertical direction and the actual stress value in the horizontal direction measured by the measuring unit 3: when the average main stress proves to be unconstant, the static water pressure of the acting water 22 is controlled by the side-pressure control unit 4 so that the average main stress becomes constant.
