PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy and inexpensive working method of a brake rotor for enhancing the accuracy of the runout of the end face thereof in place of a method of accurately working each single component. SOLUTION: In the bearing unit for the drive wheel, a hub wheel 11, the outer joint member 13 of a constant velocity universal joint, and an axle bearing 14 are unitized, and at least one of the double row inner races of the axle bearing 14 is formed in an outer joint member 13. The brake rotor 50 is assembled into the hub wheel 11 of the bearing unit. In the assembled state, the outer periphery of the outer wheel 16 of the axle bearing 14 is fixed and supported. While the hub wheel 11, the outer joint member 13, and the brake rotor 50 are integrally rotated, the side surfaces of the brake rotor 50 are turned. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
