PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary atomizing head which can be made lightweight while keeping strength even in high speed revolution and a method of designing the rotary atomizing head. SOLUTION: The rotary atomizing head comprises a cylindrical part 3, an inner face part 4 having a center axis the same as that of the cylindrical part 3 and extending to be inclined from one end of the cylindrical part 3 to a direction parting from the center axis, and an outer face part 5 having the center axis the same as that of the cylindrical part 3 and extending to the extending directional end part of the inner face part 4, wherein the outside surface of the inner face part has a shape dented bell-like.
