The thermal insulation [11] used on a building [12] is held in place using a nail plug element . A plastic plug [1] is inserted into a hole [13] drilled in the wall and nail with grooved tip [18,19] is driven to expand the plug to provide a tight fit. The head of the nail is enlarged [3] to provide retention of the insulation.
