A method of driving a plasma display panel is provided to stabilize a sustain discharge, which is performed on a first discharge cell group, by reducing a standby time between addressing and sustain discharge periods for the first discharge cell group. A plasma display panel includes first to third electrode lines and discharge cells. During an addressing period, the second electrode lines are shared by scan electrode lines, to which scan signals are applied. The electrode lines are divided into odd-numbered and even-numbered lines. Discharge cell groups, which are defined by the odd-numbered and even-numbered lines, are arranged as first and second discharge cell groups. During a first address period(PA1), the first discharge cell group is addressed. During a first sustain discharge period(PS1), a sustain discharge is performed on the discharge cell, which is addressed during the first address period. During a second address period(PA2), the second discharge cell group is addressed. During a second sustain discharge period(PS2), the sustain discharge is performed on the discharge cells, which are addressed during the first and second address periods. |
