A method for detecting the illegal copy of a recording medium and a recording medium equipped with a program for realizing the method are provided to count a loading time of data to determine the source of the data when illegal copy is performed between recording media having rapidly different loading time values. User equipment loads data recorded on the first or second recording medium(S120). The loading time of the data is counted so that the value of the loading time is calculated(S130). It is determined whether the value of the loading time is in the range of authenticated time values(S140). It is determined that the data is illegally copied if the value of the loading time is beyond the range of the authenticated time values(S150). The display of the data or the execution of an operation related to the data is stopped(S160,S170).
