PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with a housing having an opening for exposing part of a heat absorbing member and having high rigidity. SOLUTION: The light emission type display 15 has a liquid crystal display panel 19 and a light emitting element 20 performing transmission illumination of the liquid crystal display panel 19. The heat absorbing member 40 absorbs heat radiated by the light emission type display 15. The housing 17 houses the light emission type display 15. The housing 17 has the opening 17a exposing part of the heat absorbing member 40 and a reinforcing means 17d straddling the opening 17a. The housing 17 has an upper side case 51 and a lower side case 52. The reinforcing means 17d has a first reinforcing part 51a provided on the upper side case 51 and a second reinforcing part 52a provided on the lower side case 52.
