PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical device tank having a joint between a tank body and a tank cover which joint is so constructed as to endure high pressure and prevent welding sputter from entering the tank. SOLUTION: On a tank body, a cylindrical trunk is welded onto a bottom plate as the upper end of the trunk is left open, a fitting portion of a given size is secured to extend downward from the trunk upper end, and a joint flange having a given width is welded horizontally to the trunk at the position of the fitting portion. The tank cover includes a cover plate made into a shape that has an additional adjusting margin of a given width along the outer periphery of the opening edge of the tank body, and a trunk that has a height secured to be at least equivalent to the height of the fitting portion of the trunk of the tank body, the trunk height extending downward from the outer edge of the cover plate. After a device body has been housed in the tank body, the trunk of the tank cover is fitted on the fitting portion of the tank body, and then the joint flange of the tank body is welded to the lower end of the tank cover trunk.
