PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge head which prevents a satellite droplet from occurring, and also to provide an image forming apparatus using the head. SOLUTION: The liquid discharge head in one embodiment of the present invention is characterized in that its discharge unit comprises: a nozzle as a discharge port to discharge a liquid droplet; a pressure chamber communicating with the nozzle; a displacement generating means to generate a volumetric change in the pressure chamber; and a supply flow passage to supply a liquid to the pressure chamber, communicating with the pressure chamber, and that the resonant frequency f [kHz] of the discharge unit, and a liquid discharge speed v [m/s] satisfy the relation of f>31×v+80.
