PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for evaluating a casting plan, capable of efficiently designing the casting plan while predicting the success or the failure of a directive solidification as the whole product regarding to a cast product having a complete shape. SOLUTION: The apparatus for evaluating the casting plan is constituted so that based on three-dimensional shaped data read out from a three-dimensional shaped data storing part 2 and a casting condition set by inputting in a casting condition setting part 3, a solidifying time calculating part 4 divides a casting model into a plurality of fine elements and calculates the solidifying time of molten metal of each fine element, and after a connecting point indicating part 5 indicates a connecting point of the product with a feeder head, a distance number calculating part 6 calculates the distance number of each fine element, and an evaluating element selecting part 7 selects the plurality of evaluating elements in the inner part of the product, and a casting plan evaluating part 8 evaluates the result of the casting plan from the relation between the distance number and the solidifying time in the evaluating element.
