A connector, a connector assembly and an assembling method thereof are provided to set up the stepped surface of a cam groove of which the depth decreases from an entrance side to a back side, thereby improving the operation of a movable member for performing or supporting connection between a connector and the other connector. A connector of a movable member type comprises the following parts: a connector housing which can connect with the other connector housing; a movable member which has at least one cam groove(33) and is mounted operably on or at least partially into the connector housing and can be engaged with at least one cam pin(63) protruding in the connector housing; and a stepped surface(38,39) which can be engaged with a jaw part(65) of the cam pin and is formed at least at a middle position of the groove surface of the cam groove in a depth direction.
