<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method of a solid polymer fuel cell capable of shortening the preliminary operating period. <P>SOLUTION: This is the operating method of the solid polymer fuel cell, having a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 3, an anode catalyst layer 5A arranged on one side of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 3, and a cathode catalyst layer 5B arranged on another side of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 3. As a preliminary operation, power generation is carried out, by supplying oxidant gas to the anode catalyst layer 5A and supplying hydrogen gas to the cathode catalyst layer, and then, in the normal operation, power generation is carried out, by supplying fuel gas or liquid to the anode catalyst layer 5A and supplying oxidizer gas to the cathode catalyst layer 5B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
