PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control unit and program which can perform various settings and operations easily and ideally, by outputting the guidance voice from the remote control unit when performing various operations with the remote control unit. SOLUTION: The remote control unit stores a plurality of control command groups of different models and enables setting of a command group, corresponding to a specific model from among the plurality of control command groups as control commands of each instruction key. The unit recognizes voice instructions from a user, and as the result of the recognition, outputs a guidance voice related to setting of a control command based on the voice guidance data, corresponding to the indication. Then, based on the voice instruction input, in response to the guidance voice, the unit extracts control commands to be set from the plurality of control command groups, and sets the extracted control commands as control commands for each of the indication keys.
