PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission line which can surely suppress a PMD (Polarization Mode Dispersion) caused in an optical fiber due to various factors and which can attain a long distance transmission verysmall in signal deterioration. SOLUTION: The optical transmission line is constituted by alternately connecting in the longitudinal direction a right twisting cable for which coated optical fibers housed in the groove 24 of a slot 22 in an optical cable 20 are twisted in the right direction, with a left twisting cable for which coated optical fibers housed in the optical cable 20 are twisted in the left direction.
