PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp, capable of preventing deterioration of light translucency and generation of cracks caused by SiC film thickness to be coated on the inner wall of a light-emitting tube, and furthermore, capable of preventing deterioration of a light flux caused by thin-filming. SOLUTION: In a lamp light-emitting tube, having a bulb part 12 in which a protective film 14 is formed on the inner wall face and a narrow tube part 13 into which an electrode 15 is sealed, the film thickness of the protection film 14 is formed so that the wavelength of a light, of which the spectral transmittance becomes maximum and the peak value of a light emission spectrum of the discharge lamp, will substantially match.
