PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shoe hold mechanism in a drum brake capable of supporting in a stable state for a backing plate having a small number of parts and easy to assemble. SOLUTION: Contact faces to a backing plate 18 at a wheel cylinder side and an anchor side of a rim part 20b of a brake shoe 20 of a shoe hold mechanism in a drum brake are contacted and supported by ledge parts b, c formed on an upper faces of the backing plates. Contact faces to the backing plate 18 formed at an approximate center position of the rim part 20b of the brake shoe 20 are contacted and supported by a ledge part A formed at a lower face of a cut-raised part 18a of the backing plate 18.
