SOLUTION: A primary clamping pressure lower limit value computing circuit 59 sets a primary clamping pressure lower limit value Pdp for preventing the slippage of the belt due to a lack of primary pressure Pp in accordance with a maximum friction coefficientμp between a primary pulley and an endless belt. A secondary clamping pressure lower limit value computing circuit 60 sets a secondary clamping pressure lower limit value Pds for preventing the slippage of the belt due to a lack of secondary pressure Ps in accordance with a maximum friction coefficientμp between a secondary pulley and the endless belt. Then, the primary pressure Pp and the secondary pressure Ps are controlled to be not smaller than the primary clamping pressure lower limit value Pdp and the secondary clamping pressure lower limit value Pds, respectively.
