PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply for simplifying a constitution for determining a short circuit in one of two capacitors connected in series and provided at an input stage in the switching power supply, and reducing a cost. SOLUTION: A control circuit 6 is operated by power inputted to a switching section 3, and determines the short circuit in one of the capacitors 4, 5 based on a potential at a connection between the capacitors 4, 5 provided at the input stage in the switching power supply 1 and connected in series.
