PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio telephone capable of being operated in two or more radio telephone systems. SOLUTION: A method of operating a radio telephone system is disclosed, the radio telephone system including a plurality of base stations (515, 510) for communicating with either one of a mobile exchange center (138) or a network control center (505) and cooperating with another radio telephone system including the other of the centers by exchanging the signals between the mobile exchange center and the network control center, wherein the network control center or the mobile exchange center switches a call under proceeding to the other different radio telephone system based on a user information signal indicating that the other different radio system requests selection, thereby automatically assigning and re-assigning a user to one of the radio telephone systems.
