PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact surface acoustic wave device that can reduce parasitic capacitance and parasitic inductance and has stable characteristics. SOLUTION: Extension is made by an extraction electrode 9 from busbars 75, 77 of an IDT electrode 7 each for connecting to a circuit connection pad 5, thus dispensing with providing a connection pad for connecting to an oscillation circuit, or the like by extending the IDT electrode 7, and hence reducing current consumption by the parasitic capacitance and the power consumption by the oscillation circuit, or the like. The need for a metal wire for connecting the connection pad to the circuit connection pad 5 is eliminated, thus reducing the deviation of an oscillation frequency and a phase.
