PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device capable of detecting heat due to the light emission of pixel with high accuracy without deteriorating the aperture ratio of the pixel. SOLUTION: The light emitting device 1 is provided with light emitting elements 30 having an organic layer between a first electrode and a second electrode 18 so as to correspond respectively to a plurality of pixels, and the out-going of the light-emitting light is emitted from the substrate. An insulating layer 20 is provided on the second electrode 18, and a thermostat 22 for detecting heat generated by the light emitting elements 30 is provided on the insulating layer 20.
