PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize an organic EL device by reducing a change in luminous brightness with time caused by driving the organic EL device. SOLUTION: The organic EL device having a luminous layer 6 disposed between a cathode 7 and an anode 2 comprises a positive-hole injection layer 3 disposed between the anode 2 and the luminous layer 6; and also comprises an insoluble layer 4 disposed between the positive-hole injection layer 3 and the luminous layer 6, higher in insolubility to organic solvent than the luminous layer 6, and made of a derivative of the material of the luminous layer.
