PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To significantly improve the performance of recovering exhaust pressure and improve an output of a steam turbine. SOLUTION: In the turbine exhaust system 100, steam flows in from a steam inflow pipe 20 into a turbine stage to drive a turbine rotor 1, and the exhaust is guided to a condenser 200. The exhaust system comprises a casing 2 in an exhaust chamber equipped with a turbine rotor 1 therein, and a casing 5 provided outside the exhaust chamber. The casing 5 covers the casing 2 the exhaust chamber, and makes the exhaust chamber 4 between the casing 2 and the casing 5 to guide exhaust discharged from the turbine stage to the condenser 200. The exhaust system comprises further an exhaust cooling device 50 which jets off a cooling liquid into a dead water region in the exhaust chamber 4 for blow-off from the turbine stage.
