<p>A method and an apparatus for selecting a cell in a mobile communication system are provided to prevent a ping-pong phenomenon, which can occur in a cell boundary area or a bad signalling area, in case of considering the number of times of cell reselection only. A UE(User Equipment) stands by in a camp-on state(301). If triggering occurs for cell reselection, the UE access the nearest micro cell(303). At this moment, the UE starts cell reselection(305). An RNC(Radio Network Controller) judges whether the number of times of cell reselection exceeds the number of times of the maximum cell reselection during a given cell reselection time interval(307). If not, the RNC judges that the UE is in a slow-moving user state(305). However, if the number of times of cell reselection exceeds the number of times of the maximum cell reselection, the RNC judges whether the sum of occupation time in node-Bs, which have serviced the UE until now during a specific time, is larger than a preset time(309). If so, the RNC judges that the UE is in a fast-moving user state and controls the UE so as to access a macro cell(311).</p> |
