<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for carrying out switching control of a driving speed so that the processing time of image formation becomes short as a whole in an image forming apparatus capable of forming color images and monochrome images by switching the driving speed. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of continuously carrying out a plurality of image forming processes, when the image formation is carried out in the order of color image formation and monochrome image formation (S2→S4→S5→S6→), for the monochrome image formation carried out successively to the color image formation, each component performing the image forming operation is driven at a relatively low speed which is a speed for the color image forming process (S8). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
