PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method, for detecting a tilt of an input image without depending on a marker or arrangement of characters. SOLUTION: This image processor 100 has: a tilt detection part 104 detecting the tilt of the input image 103 read at prescribed resolution and generated from a watermarked print medium obtained by printing a watermark image embedded with a dot pattern and an image in a superimposed manner by an input device 102; and an information detection part 106 detecting information embedded in the watermark image. A tilt of a reference straight line is previously detected on the basis of a reference straight line group including a plurality of straight lines each formed by connecting at least two dots present in a reference input image as a reference of the tilt of the input image. The tilt detection part detects a tilt of a straight line on the basis of a straight line group including a plurality of straight lines formed by connecting at least two dots included in the input image, and detects the tilt of the input image by comparing the tilt of the reference straight line and the tilt of the straight line.
