PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method by which wear of a photoreceptor and a blade is suppressed, the lifetimes and maintenance cycles of an apparatus and a process cartridge are extended, and image deletion in image formation is suppressed. SOLUTION: The image forming method uses a photoreceptor 31 having a surface layer containing a resin of a crosslinked structure, wherein the material of a blade 342 in its part which comes in contact with the photoreceptor satisfies 3.92≤M≤29.42, 0<α≤0.294 and S≥250, the absolute value of difference in circumferential velocity between the photoreceptor and an intermediate transfer member is≥0, and an abrasive material is present at a contact part of the photoreceptor and the intermediate transfer member, wherein M represents 100% modulus;αrepresents the ratio of stress change (Δstress) to strain amount change (Δstrain amount) äΔstress/Δstain amount=((stress at strain amount of 200%)-(stress at strain amount of 100%))/(200-100)} (MPa/%) between strain amounts of 100% and 200% on a stress-strain curve; and S represents breaking elongation measured based on JIS K6251 (in which a dumbbell No.3 specimen is used).
