PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can image at a high frame rate, without causing breakdown of signal processing. SOLUTION: A split region setting means 2 sets a plurality of imaging regions in the light-receiving region of an image sensor 1. A frame rate setting means 3 sets a frame rate for each imaging region. A read-out control means 4 controls the timing for reading out a signal from the light-receiving region of the image sensor 1 for each imaging region, depending on a frame rate set by the frame rate setting means 3.
