<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an influence of a timer error or the like of a built-in clock to allow accurate reproduction period management and to reduce a processing load on a terminal device when reproducing a content. <P>SOLUTION: It is discriminated whether a clock 18 is a secure clock or a free-running clock. In the case of a free-running clock, a count of the clock 18 is stored in a memory card MC as a timestamp file when recording the content, and the content is reproduced after the validity of a clock time is determined using a timestamp file when reproducing the content, and the time of the timstamp file is updated to a content reproduction restart time.
