PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk-driving device which removes unnecessary latency time. SOLUTION: Before a spindle motor-stopping operation is carried out, a stopping request determines, in step S1, whether the perfect stopping of rotation of a spindle motor is necessary. If the perfect stopping of the rotation of the spindle motor is necessary, the stopping request brakes the motor, in step S4, to stop the motor. If the perfect stopping of the rotation of the spindle motor is unnecessary, the stopping request makes the motor inertially rotate, in step S9, to stop the motor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
