PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter surely shutting off a current when an abnormal current flows in a motor and reducing current shut-off during the normal conduction of a current. SOLUTION: The starter is provided with a motor including a magnetic field coil 23 and an electromagnetic switch supplying the motor with a current from a battery 30 and starting an engine via a pinion gear. A metal conductor 33a is connected to the upstream side of the magnetic field coil 23 to which a current is supplied, and a narrow small part 34 of a small section area having a fuse function is formed at the metal conductor 33a.
