PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction filter which retains a liquid film to thereby filter fuel satisfactorily regardless of a liquid level position of the fuel within a fuel tank and decreases air contained in the fuel sucked into a fuel pump, and a fuel supply device using the suction filter. SOLUTION: The suction filter 20 includes a liquid film formation section 22 in the vicinity of a suction port 12 of the fuel pump 11 in a filter body 21. The fuel the foreign matters of which have been removed by passing through the filter body 21 is sucked into the fuel pump 11 via the liquid film formed at the liquid film formation section 22 in the vicinity of the suction port 12 of the fuel pump 11. Thus, the fuel sucked into the fuel pump 11 passes through the liquid film formed at the liquid film formation section 22. Therefore, even if part of the suction filter 20 is exposed from the fuel to the air due to the liquid level position within the fuel tank 1, air contained in the fuel sucked into the fuel pump 11 is decreased.
