PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of removing a floating foreign matter remaining on a reading glass for reading an image on a document being conveyed optically and preventing a fault causing occurrence of stripe-like noise on a reading image. SOLUTION: This image reading device reads an image on a document at a reading position A optically while conveying the document just above the reading glass 21. A conveyance roller 14a positioned on the upstream side of the reading position A is heated by a heat source 31, and a rear end part of the document conveyed between the conveyance rollers 14a and 14b is curled onto a reading glass 21 side. The floating foreign matter remaining on the reading glass 21 is removed from on the reading glass 21 by the curled rear end part of the document. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
