SELF-ADJUSTABLE TRACTIVE PLANETARY GEAR TRANSMISSION

A self-adjustable planetary roller transmission is described, comprising a conical sun roller with a tractive surface on its side wall; an annular tractive track having conical surface concentrically separated from the sun roller; conical planetary rollers with tractive surfaces located between the sun roller tractive surface and the annular tractive track; a planet carrier wherein the planetary rollers are rotatory mounted and separated therefrom. When the tractive surfaces of the transmission wear out, the planetary rollers can adjust their axial and radial positions between the sun roller tractive surface and the annular tractive track; consequently, the required tractive condition to transmit the power is maintained with high mechanical efficency, and low noise and vibration levels. The transmission operates with or without elasto-hydrodynamic fluids.
