The invention concerns a method which consists introducing a parallel arrangement to the fuel pencils (3) of a fuel assembly (1) prior to its being loaded into the nuclear reactor core, at least one control pencil (7) having substantially the same diameter and the same length as a fuel pencil (3), containing therein a combustible material and, after a period of retention of the assembly in the operating nuclear reactor core, extracting the control pencil (7) from the fuel assembly and measuring an emission rate in counts per second of at least one line of at least one fission product contained in the control pencil (1); calculating, from calculating and correcting softwares the combustion rate of the fuel assembly (1) for each of the measuring points, based on the measurement of the emission rate. |
