A sill-mounted closure device for the door of the body of trucks, trailers and the like, comprising at least one base (2), which is rigidly coupled to the frame of the body (3) below the door (4) and is provided with a coupling element (5) for at least one lever (6) which is keyed rigidly at the lower end of at least one rod (7), which is supported so that it can rotate within the door (4), and at least one upper abutment (8), which is rigidly coupled to the frame of the body (3), for at least one hook-shaped element (9), which is fixed to the upper end of the rod (7), the lever (6) being provided with means (10) for safety retention to the base (2) and being rotatable manually from at least one angular position for fastening the door (4), in which it is engaged in the coupling element (5) and in which the hook-shaped element (9) is rigidly coupled, monolithically with the lever, to the upper abutment (8), to at least one angular position for freely opening the door (4), in which it is disengaged from the coupling element (5) and in which the hook-shaped element (9), monolithically with the lever, is disengaged from the upper abutment (8), the lever (6) forming, at the end, at least one seat (18) within which the coupling element (5) is adapted to engage detachably, so as to keep the door (4) open during loading and unloading operations and so as to prevent it from closing accidentally.
