950,037. Dust separators. BAHCO A.B. June 20, 1962 [June 21, 1961], No. 23817/62. Heading B1R. A dust separator consists of a vessel 1 for holding liquid, e.g. water, a gas inlet tube 5, 6 located so that the dust-laden gas entering the vessel is directed normally to the liquid surface, a plurality of tubes 12 arranged laterally of the gas inlet and also normal to the liquid surface so that the gas impinging on the liquid surface entrains liquid droplets and flows upwardly through said lateral tubes, and deflection plates 14 above the lateral tubes to separate the droplets from the gas stream, which leaves through outlet 7, and return them to the main body of the liquid. The vessel I may have a sludge outlet 3. The pressure of the gas causes the liquid to rise to level 21 in the cavity between vessel 1 and inner jacket 8, and to be depressed to level 22 below gas inlet 6.
