PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which can surely prevent a developer from leaking from the gap between the outer circumferential surface part and the main body part of a sleeve which faces parts between magnetic poles at both lengthwise end parts of a magnet roll of a developing roll. SOLUTION: An auxiliary magnet 40 is provided at a specified part of the main body 20 facing the part between specified magnetic poles N<SB>1</SB>and S<SB>1</SB>at both the lengthwise end parts of the magnet roll 23. Further, an auxiliary magnet 45 is provided at a position between specified magnetic poles at both the lengthwise end parts of the magnet roll 23 and a gap forming projection 50 for forming a specified gap (s) along the outer circumferential surface of the sleeve 22 is provided at a part of the main body 20 which at least faces the auxiliary magnet 45.
