<p>The present invention relates to a method and system for providing music service, and more particularly, to a method and system for providing music service in which a sound source recognition technology and license codes are managed, it is determined whether a music file is copyrighted, and in the case a user fairly obtains the right to use the music file, the music file is converted to be available in a portable device and the user can readily use the music file in his/her portable device. Disclosed is a music service providing method according to the present invention, including the steps of: receiving a selection of a predetermined music file from a user; transmitting music data associated with the received music file to a sound source recognition service server; controlling the sound source recognition service server to determine whether the received music file is copyrighted; receiving a result of the determination on whether the received music file is copyrighted, from the sound source recognition service system; in the case it is determined the music file is copyrighted, making the user obtain the right to use the music file; in the case the user obtains the right to use the music file, converting the music file to be available in a portable device; and transmitting the converted music file to the portable device of the user.</p> |
