A hair coloring composition comprising the ink extract of Cephalopoda is provided to minimize hair damage and skin troubles and allergies in the scalp after hair coloring by reducing skin irritation, eliminating or minimizing the amount of an alkalizing agent used and inhibiting hair swelling due to high pH. A hair coloring composition comprising an oxidation dye selected from m-aminophenol, resorcine, p-phenylenediamine and p-aminophenol, a chelating agent, antioxidant, emulsifier, a thickening agent, a solubilizing agent, preservative, solvent, a flavoring agent, a pH regulating agent, humectant, stabilizer, an alkalizing agent, a hair protecting agent selected from methylpolysiloxane emulsion, dimethicone/dimethylconol(gum 20%), henna extract, urea, DL panthenol, polyquaternium-7, hydroxyethylcellulose, hydrolyzed silk and polyquaternium-10, and oxidant further comprises 0.01-10 wt.% of the ink extract of Cephalopoda and has pH 6.5-7.2.
