A photochromic dye-polymer integrated particle, and a method for preparing the photochromic dye-polymer integrated particle are provided to increase photochromic velocity, to improve UV resistance, chemical resistance and oxygen barrier property and to enhance the lifetime of a photochromic dye. A photochromic dye-polymer integrated particle comprises a polymer core where a photochromic dye is dispersed; and a polymer shell which wraps the surface of the polymer core. Preferably the polymer core comprises a monomer, a photochromic dye and a stabilizer; and the polymer shell comprises a monomer forming a polymer having an oxygen barrier layer. Preferably the polymer having an oxygen barrier layer is polyvinylidene chloride, polyvinylidene chloride-based copolymer, poly(vinyl chloride), poly(vinyl chloride)-based copolymer, or poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile).
