A disposable wearing article (21) has an elasticized first band (44) lying in a front half (49) of a crotch region (22) and attached to distal zones (39) of a pair of leak-barrier sheets (33) provided on a body side of the article and an elasticized second band (45) lying in a rear half (55) of the crotch region and attached to the distal zones (39). A dimension by which distal edge segments (42a) of the distal zones (39) extending forward from the first band (44) in a longitudinal direction are spaced from each other is gradually enlarged from the side of the first band (44) toward the side of the front waist region (21).
