AN INTERMEDIATE OF 4-ACETOXYAZETIDINONE AND A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE INTERMEDIATE

An intermediate of 4-acetoxyazetidinone and a process for the preparation of the same intermediate are provided to reduce production costs by using an inexpensive starting material, produce the compound in an industrial scale by performing the reaction under mild condition, and improve yield of compound by increasing E/Z isomer ratio of butene compounds to 5/1-24/1. An intermediate of 4-acetoxyazetidinone represented by the formula(6) is provided, wherein TBDMS is tert-butyldimethylsilyl, and X is halogen. The intermediate of 4-acetoxyazetidinone is prepared by reducing the compound represented by the formula(5) in solvent in the presence of calcium chloride and sodium borohydride, wherein M is methyl.
