The arrangement has a crank shaft on which a rod of a piston, a wall of an engine block and a flywheel are mounted. A stator (13) is integrated to a wall of the block situated opposite to the flywheel. An unoccupied space is arranged between the flywheel and the block. An electrical machine is radially remote from the crankshaft and is arranged on both sides of a support face of the flywheel on the crankshaft.
