Driver assistance system with course prediction model

The system has a course prediction module (14) with an evaluation unit (16) for evaluating a collective movement (K) of a vehicle that is driven ahead and located by a radar sensor (10). A determination unit (24) is fixed with a weight to vary the weight based on a criterion related to the surrounding traffic. The weight is selected only between the values 0 and 1 and causes a collective movement of the vehicle in the course prediction.
