Division B4] A method of making a clicking die includesthe steps of providing a metal strip having a cutting edge along at least one.edge and a groove 18 in one face, the inner end 24 of the groove boing aligned with the cutting edge, providing a former identical in size with the pattern 20 of the piece to be cut, forming the strip around the former with the outer edge of the former engaging in the groove, and securing the strip to the former. The former is preferably secured by an adhesive which may be applied to. the groove by feeding and progressively unwinding the coil into an adhesive applying machine and thereafter rewinding the coil. This prevents the adhesive coming into contact with the bending tools as the strip is formed.</p> |
