A material pressure regulator has a pressure housing (1) with an inlet for a flow medium under excess pressure and an outlet (3) for the flow medium. A pressure receiver (8) for detecting the pressure of the flow material at the output (3), and a regulating device (13) compares the actual value detected by the pressure receiver (8) with a specified desired value for regulating the pneumatic pressure at the pressurized air inlet (5) in relation to the differential value between the desired- and actual-value.
