A system and a method for estimating safety of each area by using a GIS are provided to support a decision for improving local safety capability by systematically managing disaster history and disaster prevention resources based on the GIS, and predicting/estimating local safety based on a pattern analysis of accumulated disaster data and local state data. A GIS database server(20) stores nationwide disaster data and a prevention ability database server(30) stores nationwide disaster prevention ability data. The GIS database server includes a meteorological agency database server(21) and a disaster damage database server(23). A safety evaluation server(10) calculates safety of the predetermined area by integrating the disaster data and the disaster prevention ability data. The safety evaluation server includes a module for discriminating a plurality of areas in one map with a level color by aggregating the calculated safety of each area, and displaying the detail disaster information of the area if a user selects one area. |
