2-Phenyl-4H-chromen-4-one and use thereof as nematocides are provided to exterminate pine tree nematodes and reduce extermination costs of pine tree nematodes by using an inexpensive agent instead of expensive agent such as metasodium. The 2-phenyl-4H-chromen-4-one represented by the formula(1) is provided. A nematocide composition contains the 2-phenyl-4H-chromen-4-one represented by the formula(1) or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable salt is selected from an inorganic salt such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid and an organic salt such as oxalic acid, fumaric acid, maleic acid, malic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid and glutamic acid. |
